    history
The original Pantheon was built in 27 BC but it was destroyed in a fire in 80.
The building we see nowadays dates from about 125, during the reign of the Emperor Hadrian.

The Pantheon was built as a Roman temple and later consecrated as a Catholic Church.
It is the best preserved ancient Roman building with its original roof.
Pantheon in Latin means "Temple of all the Gods".
